What is Graphus?
Graphus provides an automated, AI-based security solution for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace that combines ironclad anti-phishing defense with personalized graymail protection. Using a powerful AI algorithm, Graphus stops both known and zero-day email-borne threats, including phishing, business email compromise (BEC), account takeover (ATO), and ransomware attacks.
Graphus takes just minutes to deploy via an API with no MX record changes, email rerouting or agent installation needed. All you need is an AD admin or Google Workspace super admin account for the email domain you want to activate.
To better understand the benefits of Graphus, let's define phishing and graymail.
Phishing emails are deceptive messages designed to trick recipients into divulging sensitive information or performing harmful actions. Modern attacks often involve sophisticated social engineering tactics, making them appear as legitimate communications from trusted sources. The risks include unauthorized access to personal and financial data, identity theft, and significant breaches that can compromise entire organizations.
Graymail refers to unsolicited but generally legitimate emails, such as newsletters or promotional offers, that are often not outright spam but can still clutter inboxes. These emails are difficult for standard spam filters to catch because they don't fit the typical characteristics of spam. While not inherently harmful, graymail can overwhelm email recipients, reducing productivity and efficiency by distracting from important communications.
How Graphus works
Graphus is implemented via an API and will analyze emails after they are processed by M365, Google Workspace, or filtered by an email gateway. For this analysis, it uses different tools such as URL and file scanning and its powerful and patented AI technology.
Graphus’ patented AI technology builds trust profiles for each organization, scrutinizing the relationship between the sender and recipient of a message. This technology allows Graphus to perform deep learning analysis of historical and real-time communication patterns between senders and recipients to determine the credibility of communication and to defend against hard-to-catch cyberthreats.
Graphus offers three layers of protection:
- Automated quarantine: When Graphus determines an email is malicious, it removes the email from the user’s inbox.
- EmployeeShield warning banners: For emails that Graphus determines are not malicious but may be suspicious, a warning banner is placed at the top of the email. The banner can be interactive to allow a recipient to provide feedback to the AI indicating if a sender is trusted or not.
- Phish911 email reporting: For emails that users identify as suspicious but weren’t quarantined or bannered by Graphus, the Phish911 component enables users to report these emails immediately. Graphus will automatically quarantine the message for all recipients who were part of the email. Then, Graphus will notify the IT admin who will investigate the message. If the admin determines the email is safe, they will unquarantine the email.
Organization types
Graphus can be used by two different types of organizations. Organizations that want to protect their own email domain, like Mid-Market Enterprises (MME), or organizations that act as a third party and want to protect somebody else's email domain, like Managed Service Providers (MSP).
Graphus provides organizations with configurable investigation tools with which to analyze emails submitted to Graphus via the three layers of protection.
It provides these additional benefits for MSPs:
- Multi-tenancy functionalities: MSPs receive different tools to manage multiple email domains. For example, MSP admins can configure default settings, bulk edit different settings, and access a multi-tenant dashboard.
-
Integration solutions: MSPs can easily integrate Graphus with other Kaseya products and create additional benefits. For example, Graphus can be integrated with Autotask and BMS, Kaseya's ticketing and billing products respectively. In addition, Graphus can be integrated with RocketCyber, our Managed SOC, and BullPhish ID, the phishing awareness training solution.
